A former teacher, Carra loves that her role as Senior Manager of Program Curriculum at Generation Citizen allows her to exercise her passion for the empowerment of young people through a focus on curriculum development and relevant, student-centered learning. Carra’s GC career began as a Program Manager and Senior Program Manager on the GC New England team before she moved to the National Program Team. During her time at GC, Carra has partnered with MA DESE to manage a state-wide civics education conference and draft guidance for 8th-grade civics teachers working on Action Civics projects. She has coached GC teachers in five states across the US.

Carra is originally from central Connecticut and received both her BA in Secondary Education and English Literature and Ed.M in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College. When she’s not working, you can find her reading, cooking, and gardening
